Everyday Life Stories 20th Century

There are many books - history books, written in different European countries, which deal with facts and data of history. It is for example written down which celebrity or public figure was at certain time in a certain place and what he or she did there – sometimes one can learn something about political interrelations and reasons for peace and war.
In addition there are many magazines and of course the yellow press, which tell us something about the High Society - how they were living and what they were doing back than.
However, only the one who came somehow in public focus is mentioned.

In contrast to this we were interested in the everyday life of the common people.
So we composed information and teaching material which give a rough overview about the everyday life of the Germans in the 20th century and we hope that this will revive interest in further studies (by means of the references we gave).
Every decade of the 20th century takes one page (the information given in German is translated into English; a Russian version is in preparation).

The laminated sheets can either be used separately or the sheets can be stapled together in one corner and than be used like a fan.

This material is a contribution to the EU-learning partnership: EUROSTORY 20th CENTURY and is published on the website of the LEB:
